Dear Jacqueline,

Through the trials and tribulations on a daily basis, I truly hope that this letter finds you mentally intact, physically potent, spiritually uplifted and peacefully within.

Thank you for the October 23, 2020 letter that I received on October 28, 2020. It was good to hear from you and to know that you are well and safe.

I have not been able to call you yet because I have not been given a good, workable phone lately. Whenever that happens, I will call you.

Since you only want to know about my experience in solitary confinement, and not about my childhood experience growing up as well, I will stay focused on that mostly.

In 1986, while I was confined at the Huron Valley Men's Facility, an inmate got stabbed about three times in general prison population. Since three confidential sources s did that I did the stabbing and that another inmate did the watching out, we both were placed in Administrative Segregation, where we both got found guilty and laid down, even though the inmate said that we did not do it. (In any event, I never got back out the Hole again because all hell broke loose!)

Also in 1986 while I was still confined at the Huron Valley Men's Facility, an inmate got stabbed about eight times and two Corrections Officers got stabbed about one time each. Since I was accused of doing all the stabbing, while wearing a. homemade ninja hood, which resulted in staff nicknaming me “Ninja Miller,” I was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, which got dismissed for lack of evidence. Thereafter, I became officially locked down in long-term segregation, which was spearheaded by the Security Classification Committee. In retaliation, I was harassed, humiliated, threatened, assaulted, set up with contraband, fed food loaf, called derogatory names, and racial slurs, written false misconducts, most of my personal property was destroyed, given away, and stolen, and most of my mail, showers, yard and call outs were taken.

And also in 1986, while I was still confined at the Huron Valley Men's Facility, a Corrections Officer got stabbed about five times. Since I was accused of doing all the stabbing, while wearing a home made ninja hood, I was charged with, tried for, and convicted of Assault with Intent to Commit Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder, in spite of my not guilty plea.

I was sentenced to life in prison for Count I and life in prison for Count II, as being a 4th habitual offender. (In 1982, while I was in the world, I was arrested for and charged with Attempt to Carry and Conceal a Weapon. I pled guilty and was sentenced to 1 to 2 ½ years in prison. Also in 1982, while I was also in the world, I was arrested for and charged with Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property over $100. I ped guilty and was sentenced to 6 months to 5 years in prison. In 1983, while I was also in the world, and while I was still on parole, I was arrested for and charged with Breaking and Entering an Occupied Dwelling with Intent to Commit a Felony or a Larceny, along with my co-defendant, who was a juvenile, Even though we did not do what they said we did we still pled guilty and I was sentenced to 4 to 15 years in prison, while he was sentenced to the Wayne County Youth Home to serve a little time. And in 1985, while I was confined at the Michigan Reformatory, I was accused of hitting a Corrections Officer with my fists about four or five times during a general melee on the administrative segregation night yard between several staff members about three or four other inmates. I pled guilty and was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison. In retaliation, and during the month of December, I was placed in a “stripped quiet cell" with full restraints on, belly chains, handcuffs and leg irons. Prior to that, staff stepped on the handcuffs and leg irons to stop my blood circulation, before they assaulted me. And the cell that I was placed in was unsanitary because there were human waste and urine on the walls, floor, ceiling windows, vents, radiator, cement bed slab, door, sink and toilet and that insects and glass from the broken ceiling light were spread about the floor as well. And the sink and toilet were broken or cut off. I was denied clothing, a mat-mattress, adequate medical treatments, showers, etc. And a bag meal was thrown through the top food slot about once every few days. After I cleaned a spot in the middle of the floor with my hands, I just laid there in a fetal position, with dried up blood over my body, for about 17 straight days, thinking and talking to myself like a frozen ice cube. There was no need to pray to the Lord because, at that time, I was more of a Devil worshipper. Since I knew I was left there to die, I thought I was but somehow some way, I survived, only because an inmate across the hall was feeding me some of his meals under the door, and only because my family came up there to visit me that broke the whole 17 days at the last minute.

In 1987, while I was confined at the State Prison of Southern Michigan, a Corrections Officer allegedly got hit in the face with fists several times and another Corrections Officer got stabbed to death about five times. Since I was accused of doing all the hitting and stabbing, which resulted in staff nicknaming me "Killer Miller,” I was charged with, tried for, and convicted of Second Degree Murder Assaulting an Employee (two), Carrying a Weapon with Unlawful Intent, Prisoner in Possession of a Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, in spite of, my not guilty plea. I was sentenced to 80 to 120 Years in prison for Count 1, 2 to 4 years in prison for Count II, 2 to 5 years in prison for Count II, 3 to 5 years in prison for Count IV, and 3 to 5 years in prison for Count V, respectively. In retaliation, I was harassed, humiliated, threatened assaulted, set up with a weapon, the two assaults and the murder, called derogatory names and racial slurs, written false misconducts, denied adequate medical treatment, and most of my personal property was destroyed.

Also in 1987, while I was confined at the Ionia Maximum Correctional Facility (now Ionia Correctional Facility), as soon as I transferred there from the state Prison of Southern, Michigan, following the two assaults and the murder, I was immediately retaliated against by being harassed, humiliated, threatened, called derogatory, names and racial slurs, written falše misconducts, refused my personal property and was placed on a variety of indefinite written and unwritten restrictions: no out-of-cell movement, no next door neighbors, no interacting or associating with other inmates, full restraints, videotaping, four man escort, mail, showers, yard, call outs and visits. And on many occasions, not only was my water cut off, my meals were taken from me (which had pieces of metal and glass in them) but, the outside of my door window also stayed covered with paper, so I could not see out of it, way before they put the window shutters on the door windows in 1988.

In 1988, while I was still confined at the Ionia Correctional Facility, a lieutenant got stabbed about one time. Since I was accused of doing all the stabbing, I was charged with, tried for, and convicted of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Prisoner in Possession of a Weapon, in spite of my not guilty plea. I was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for Count

I and life in prison for count II, as being a 4th habitual offender. In retaliation, I was sprayed with gas, rushed, subdued, assaulted, chained to the bed in another cell, harassed, humiliated, threatened, called derogatory names, and racial slurs, written false. misconducts, some of my property was destroyed, and denied showers, adequate medical treatment, toilet breaks, water and some of my meals.

In 1989, while I was still confined at the Ionia Correctional Facility, a Corrections Officer got stabbed about one time and a Sergeant got stabbed about two times. Since I was accused of doing all the stabbing, the Warden sent the Prosecutor the paperwork to have me prosecuted but it was returned to him because the prosecutor told him that it would have been a waste of time and money because I was already doing a lot of time. In retaliation, I was rushed, subdued, assaulted chained to the bed in another celli, harassed, humiliated, threatened, called derogatory names and racial slurs, written false misconducts, some of my personal property was destroyed, and denied showers, adequate medical treatment, dental treatment of any kind, toilet breaks, water and some of my meals. I was also placed on a special restraint restriction (handcuffs and leg irons with a drop chain attached to them and secured with a padlock), known

as high-security restraints, but formerly known as “Miller Restraints,” after my last name. And I was also assigned to two personal cells in housing Unit 1.

From 2008 to 2015, while I was confined at the Baraga Maximum Correctional Facility (now. Baraga Correctional Facility), I had no major problems for whatever reason. They just carried everything out up there: locked down in long-term segregation, most of my indefinite written and unwritten restrictions, and assigned to two personal cells in 'housing Unit I. In addition, the food cart was only used on me, and I went to the yard by myself, and was placed in a specific yard cage by myself, just to name a few. In my pending lawsuit (Money Mont v. John Davids, et al, or James Lamont Miller v. No.1:20-cv-108), I mentioned most of my improper conditions of confinement, at the Ionia Correctional Facility and Baraga Correctional Facility, from 1987 to the present day.

To make it so bad, there is still a lot more that happened to me and in my situation. If you want to know more, including details, just let me know. And you can use this information for whatever reason, hoping that it will be beneficial as a tool to make a difference in the cause, fight and struggle, to not follow in my footsteps unless it is personal, and absolutely necessary, to use your mind more than your heart in order to be more successful. And as long as I can stay alive and well, I will always have opportunities to make things happen, to redeem myself to make up for my regrets, to conquer this ordeal, because "strength” can overshadow any weakness that the foes throw at you, no matter what situation they put you in. As long as you do not give in to them, you will always find ways to beat them, in one way or another, sooner or later. And even if they do find ways to weaken or kill your mind and body, your soul should be impenetrable and immortal. But your mission should be: not to die but to multiply.

On that notÄ™, stay alive, well, safe, sound, focused and active.

Down but not out,

Money Mont
